Why should you try chia?
  • Chia is high in fiber, protein and calcium, which makes it a perfect breakfast! Chia seeds are rich in Omega-3s, which are great for your brain. They have been shown to help you feel full.

  • Chia seeds can expand up to 10 (!) times their size by soaking up the liquid, which will help you hydrate and aid in the digestion process.

  • And the best part, you can be creative with flavors! Which flavor pudding will you make: strawberry, mango, coconut, banana?

  • Superfoods means foods that have exceptional nutrient density which means are very good for you.

  • In this recipe, almost every ingredient is a superfood: spinach, berries, and avocado!

  • Did you know that berries contain antioxidants? Antioxidants help you stay healthy and fight free radicals aka "the bad guys" in your body

  • Can you name all five senses? 

  • Do you know what tasting mindfully mean? It sounds a lot like tasting it with your mind, so just think about using all of your five senses when tasting the food. Food tastes much better and you can really enjoy all the flavors.

What sweeteners can we use besides sugar?
  • All foods contain sugar. Some foods contain more sugar than others. Eating too much sugar is unhealthy for us because it does not provide us with vitamins, minerals, and it makes us feel slow and tired.

  • Eating sugar in moderation is perfectly okay as we want to eat many different types of foods. Discuss ways to reduce sugar like eating frozen yogurt, fresh fruit, reducing portion size, etc.
