Horchata Drink Recipe

Horchata is a traditional Mexican drink that's made of white rice water! Through adding flavors like cinnamon you can have a tasty drink that can be easily made from home.


Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup uncooked white rice

  • 3 1/3 cups water

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 cup milk

  • 4 oz evaporated milk (1/3 can)

  • 4 oz sweetened condensed milk (1/3 can)

  • Ice for serving

makes 6 servings


Directions:

  1. Soak rice in 1 cup water for 10 minutes

  2. Pour rice with water into a blender, and blend till smooth

  3. Pour rice mixture through strainer and into a bowl, separating the solid particles

  4. Pour the rice water back into the blender

  5. Add remaining 2 1/3 cup water, cinnamon milk, evaporated milk and condensed milk - blend till smooth

  6. Pour out drink into cups with ice and enjoy!
